Day 23










Breakfast Day 23: Yogurt, strawberries & granola- can you say yum?

Lunch Day 23: Local cheeses, green beans, snap peas, strawberry muffin & kohlrabi

Dinner Day 23: Cabbage rolls, toast & raspberries -6 thumbs up for cabbage rolls at the Lang house!

At work this morning my boss Chris brought me a head of cabbage, some beautiful royal purple beans and some raspberries. Thank you Chris & Steve! (Their farm is the Birch Coulee Creak Farm). Other than coleslaw, I wasn’t too sure what to do with cabbage. Cabbage roll came to mind after remembering that I had some ground beef in the freezer. I ended up modifying an Emeril Lagasse recipe based on what I had in the frige… http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/cabbage-rolls-recipe/index.html I used crumbled bacon rather than ground pork, frozen tomatoes rather than canned and so on. The rice was bust barley was another option and a possible choice to find local. However, I didn’t think that far ahead. Chock the cabbage rolls up to another first time meal. They turned out pretty well and even Elliot ate it!
